About Isabelle
Hello! My name is Isabelle Watkins and I am a senior at Duke University. My primary areas of study are Psychology and Religious Studies, and I am planning on going to law school after I graduate. I have 4 years of experience tutoring at the middle school and high school levels, and I love my job! I find it so rewarding to see students' progress in whatever they are struggling with, and for their confidence in their abilities to grow!

For middle school and high school math students :
Before each lesson, my students send me their most recent schoolwork that they have been struggling with and I use that to make a lesson plan.
I start out each lesson with a conceptual lesson and a couple example problems. Then, I let the student try questions with my help. Finally, the student retries the problems they were struggling with from school with my help.
For English/essay help, I have my students send me the essay beforehand, I mark it up, and then we go through the suggestions together and revise the essay.
For SAT students, I assign a practice test or a set of practice problems every week and we spend each session going over the problems the student got wrong or was confused about. I also do mini-lessons on concepts the student is struggling with.
