About Suyash Grover
I have been playing drums for 14 years and have experience of 4 years in teaching music formally. Further I have devoted last 4 years in studying Music Production, Audio Engineering and Electronic Music Performance and have studied at Point Blank Music School, London. I have been awarded Certificate of Excellence by Rockschool for teaching drums to a top scoring student in Rockschool grade examination. I take great pleasure in simplifying difficult concepts and structuring and streamlining various stages of learning to benefit the student's growth and understanding of playing drums, so that the student learns holistically and fast, understands the learning process, and enjoys playing the drums. The classes shall cover four areas of skill development. STYLISTIC VOCABULARY, TECHNIQUE, THEORY/SIGHT READING, ROCKSCHOOL/TRINITY SYLLABI.
STYLISTIC VOCABULARY - A range of grooves in styles such as Rock, Funk, Jazz, Latin, Afro Cuban will be taught using backing tracks and songs. Further, songs and styles of student's preference will be included.
TECHNIQUE - Basic to advanced hand and feet technique will be taught to ensure comfortable playing and professional touch on the instrument. Different rudiments and technical exercises will be taught along with exercises on limb independence.
DRUM NOTATION / SIGHT READING/ THEORY - Alongside practical learning theory and the ability to read music from staff notation will be taught. Sight reading will be incorporated gradually in all exercises to prepare the student for Rockschool/Trinity syllabi if they choose to pursue it.
ROCKSCHOOL/TRINITY SYLLABI - If a student wishes to pursue certifications from either Rockschool or Trinity for grade 1-8 examinations, the respective syllabi shall be covered.
OPTIONAL- Basics of Music Production, Drum Recording Techniques. In addition to above mentioned skills, if a student wants to record their playing on a software using microphones, recording techniques and music production can be included in the lessons.

Suyash is very methodical in his lesson planning and delivery, and often explains the concepts in various different ways which brings in clarity, specially with hand technique which is difficult to grasp initially. Recommended for anyone who wants to build a solid foundation in playing drums.
I am enjoying my lessons with Suyash, the lessons are planned as per my interests. Lessons are well balanced between theory and learning songs which keeps things interesting. First few lessons were about correcting things like the grip and wrist movement. The classroom environment is well equipped and professional.
