About MAYA
I am Maya Sarode, a passionate drawing teacher with 35 years of experience. My simple and unique teaching method involves using oil pastels without the aid of pencil or rubber. This approach instills confidence in my students as they learn to create without the fear of making mistakes. Over the years, I have had the privilege of teaching over 10,000 students, and it brings me immense joy to see them excel in their artistic abilities. Along with traditional classroom teaching, I also conduct online drawing classes for students from standard 1st to 4th. My goal as a teacher is to nurture and encourage creativity in every student, regardless of their age or skill level. I believe that through art, children can express themselves freely and develop essential skills such as patience, focus, and problem-solving. As a drawing teacher, my aim is not only to teach my students how to draw but also to inspire them to see the world in a different light and appreciate the beauty of art.

My method of teaching drawing is unique in that it does not involve the use of pencils or erasers. Instead, I teach my students how to draw directly with oil pastels. This allows them to explore the different possibilities of shade and color without having to worry about making mistakes. With oil pastels, my students can experiment in a more fluid way with their drawings, creating a variety of colors and shapes that can be blended together. Additionally, this method encourages my students to take more risks with their drawings, exploring different techniques and styles without fear of making errors. Through this method, I am able to teach my students the creative freedom of drawing by letting them express themselves with confidence and without worry.
