About Peter
I am a freelance and touring double bassist in Toronto! I have a BMus in Performance from the University of Toronto in classical music, although my work is primarily in folk and Americana. These experiences have led to a holistic and non-dogmatic approach to my teaching.

My goal is to deepen your understanding and love of the music that inspires you, and to help you play with others! We will build technical facility, understanding of harmony, melody, and rhythm, frequently with reference to musical examples brought in by the student.
My approach to bass is heavily influenced by Rabbath technique, although I draw from a number of methods - ultimately, your comfort and enjoyment of the instrument take priority over any particular dogma.
