About Matthew
Hi there! I'm a mature student currently studying for my Master's at BIMM University.
My journey in music production began many years ago whilst I was a drummer in various bands. Now, with a first-class honours degree in Electronic Music Production my career is really kicking off. From recording and mixing jazz vocals to creating and publishing my own horror music for film, I've gained a holistic understanding of what it takes to make professional-quality music. I'm genuinely excited about the next chapter of my life in the music industry and I would love to share what I've learned with you.
I believe in a truly personal and tailored approach to teaching. I'll work with you to understand your unique aspirations and learning style, so we can build a path that helps you achieve your goals. My favourite part of teaching is getting to know what inspires my students and helping them discover their creative voice. I'd love to chat more about your music and what you'd like to achieve. Beyond the Basics: My teaching goes beyond the "how-to." We'll explore the history and culture of electronic music, giving you a deeper understanding of the sounds and techniques you love. We'll also cover essential topics like mixing, mastering, and recording techniques, all within the Logic Pro environment.
Advanced Skills for a Pro Sound: Synthesis and Sound Design: Learn powerful synthesis techniques to create unique sounds from scratch. We'll also explore esoteric and creative tools for sound design that will make your music stand out.
Production Workflows: I'll teach you the skills you need to become a confident, independent producer, including advice on how to continue learning and discovering new techniques long after our lessons are done.
Proven Expertise: I've created award-winning sound design and music for games, published sync music, and have mixes that have received radio play and been performed at prestigious events.
