About Priscilla
I’m currently completing my doctorate in clinical and school psychology, where I work directly with students in academic and school-based settings. I have also worked teaching children with autism. Through these experiences, I’ve developed strong skills in communication, learning support, and adapting instruction to meet individual student needs. As a tutor, I prioritize professionalism, patience, and reliability. I understand that asking for help can feel intimidating, so I strive to create a supportive and judgment-free environment where students feel comfortable learning and asking questions. My goal is not only to help students improve academically, but also to help them build confidence in their abilities. I take preparation and communication seriously, and I’m committed to providing organized, thoughtful, and encouraging support during every session. Whether a student needs help strengthening foundational skills or preparing for exams and assignments, I aim to make learning more approachable and effective.

I tailor each English lesson to the student’s goals, learning style, and skill level. My teaching approach focuses on building confidence while improving reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and communication skills in a supportive and encouraging environment. A typical lesson includes reviewing concepts, practicing skills through guided exercises or conversation, and applying what was learned with personalized feedback and study strategies. What sets me apart is my patient, individualized approach and my graduate training in school psychology, which has given me experience supporting students with different learning needs and learning styles. I aim to make lessons approachable, organized, and effective. My lessons are designed anyone struggling from k-12 academic English, essay writing, grammar, reading comprehension, study skills, or conversational English.
