About Eva
I have a PhD from the University of Southampton in English Literature and many years of teaching experience at University and College level. I have taught Academic Writing at the University of Southampton and I've worked at the Writing Centre of Bath Spa University giving students help and advice on their essays and assignments. I can help you with structure, syntax, grammar, spelling, referencing, rhetoric and many other aspects of writing an essay or assignment.

During tutorials I help students with all aspects of writing an essay, from finding a suitable topic, developing their research skills, learning how to use online & library resources, planning and structuring an essay, communicating ideas clearly & effectively, improving writing skills, to editing their own work. I can also teach revision skills, dissertation writing and time management.
Bring your essay or assignment to my lesson and we can go through it together, analysing every single aspect of your writing and finding the particular areas you struggle with. Then I will tell you how to improve your essay regarding those aspects. I'm very thorough in my approach and I will ask you questions to help you understand why you've made certain mistakes. It will usually only take one lesson of one hour for you to have all the information you need to improve your essay/assignment, depending on the length (hence, unfortunately I cannot offer the first lesson for free).

Details
As most students only need one lesson per essay, I cannot offer my first lesson for free (as many students only need help with one essay) but we can meet in person to discuss your expectations and your academic background before our first lesson. I do not charge travel costs if you live within 5km of my home, but if you live further out, I may have to charge for a bus ticket (I don't have a car).
