About Evie-Mae
I have gained a distinction in MA History at the University of Birmingham and a 1:1 in Philosophy at undergraduate level. I have been tutoring young to older teenagers for 5 years and offer a structured, personally tailored programme according to the needs of the tutee. I have also hosted seminars for University students in a wide range of subjects (see below) and tutored children as young as 5 in reading and writing skills.
I have written papers on a broad range of subjects. My specialisms include: historical and anthropological studies, early modern history (Stuarts/Tudors), the history of cartography, nationalism, philosophy, applied ethics, philosophical logic, free will and determinism, metaphysics, epistemology, ancient philosophy, criminal psychology, and the philosophy of science. As well as tutoring, I have thoroughly enjoyed youth working with teenagers on programmes with several different organisations (National Citizen Service, Commonwealth Games, SENSE). I also worked with the Birmingham Museums Trust as a Workshop Facilitator and Tour Guide and can offer advice to anyone interested in becoming involved with the Heritage sector.
My passion is people. I absolutely love nurturing individuals to become the best that they can be. I believe in an informal and fun learning environment for those who flourish best that way and always love an opportunity to get creative!

My teaching is structured around the needs of the individual. I will assess the individual and tailor my courses specifically to what they desire to gain from the course. This includes taking account of their method of learning (visual, audial, kinetic), their availability, and their interest in marked assessment.
I am happy to give formal feedback on pieces of work - i.e. detailed comments and sessions reviewing dissertations or papers.
