My Approach as a Yoruba Tutor
As a Yoruba tutor with over 10 years of teaching experience, I use a learner-centered and interactive approach that focuses on communication, culture, and confidence. My goal is to help every student understand, speak, read, and appreciate the Yoruba language naturally and joyfully.
Teaching Method and Techniques
I combine conversation practice, storytelling, songs, proverbs, and real-life examples to make lessons engaging and practical. Grammar and vocabulary are introduced gradually through meaningful context, not memorization.
Typical Lesson Plan
A typical 60-minute lesson includes:
Warm-up: Quick review or short conversation to build fluency.
New Content: Introduction of new vocabulary, expressions, or grammar through stories or dialogue.
Practice: Guided speaking, listening, or writing exercises.
Cultural Insight: A short segment exploring Yoruba traditions, proverbs, or etiquette.
