About Katrina
Katrina was born in the USSR in 1990. For the first five years of her life, she spent in various Russian orphanages. In 1996 she was adopted by an Italian-American family and brought to Brooklyn, NY. As a young child, she developed her language through painting and drawing. Katrina continued by pursuing her studies in Fine Arts earning her Bachelor’s degree at the Fashion Institute of Technology. Her work explores issues of identity, fragmented memories, and repetition. Katrina’s work has been showcased in the Albany Museum, and Art Basel in Miami Beach, as well as exhibited at a number of galleries in New York City. Katrina is currently a licensed art teacher in NYC. Her current work is focused on urbanization and sustainability.

My Approach as a Visual Art Mentor

A Typical Lesson Plan

Project Work (20 minutes): Applying skills to a larger piece or personal project with my guidance.
Reflection (10 minutes): Review progress, discuss challenges, and plan for the next session.
