I am a complete beginner, took 7 months worth of classes and I already feel I can play so much better Thanks to evan!

Geometry was rough for me until Evan started walking me through construction problems, the ones with compass and straightedge that I kept botching. He wouldn't correct my hand right away, he'd ask what I was trying to accomplish with each step first, so I'd catch my own error half the time. Kind of tedious at first but it clicked eventually. He also swapped session times around my swim meets without any hassle.

Statistics was the class I almost dropped before Evan and I started meeting, mostly because probability distributions felt like a foreign language. He'd throw a problem at me cold, let me flounder for a bit, then ask what specifically was tripping me up instead of restarting from scratch. That part helped more than I expected. Sessions ran on my schedule too, even when I texted last minute about swapping days around exams.

What can I say.... Super instructor!

I could play the basic grooves on my own, but every fill made me lose the beat. Evan noticed that I was rushing with my right hand and broke the transitions into short exercises using songs I already knew. After a few lessons I could keep steady time through an entire track instead of stopping whenever the pattern changed.

Sat there re-asking the same fraction question four times, and he just kept finding new ways to say it without a hint of annoyance.

Switching careers at thirty-something meant zero patience for fluff, so Evan's straight-shot explanations saved my sanity.

Showed up exhausted from a closing shift, and he'd already lined up practice on exactly what tripped me up last time.

Never expected to catch myself doing extra practice problems on my lunch break after Evan's sessions.

Squeezed these lessons into a hectic month for myself, and unlike my last tutor, Evan actually made the hour worth it.

Progress felt painstakingly slow in the moment, but now the distance I've covered with Evan is undeniable.
