About Ford
Talking is not the same as communicating effectively in a new language. You might be surprised to find that we prioritize listening and pronunciation before tackling complex grammar.
I provide free access to my vocabulary and grammar notes so you can review content at your own pace between our scheduled sessions. We address reading comprehension, writing skills, and cultural context to ensure you grasp the nuances of French. Role play and dialogue practice remain central to our time together.
I focus on helping you understand the rhythm of the language while building your confidence as an absolute beginner. My background in translation studies allows me to provide precise, actionable feedback on your progress. These sessions provide the tools you need for exam prep or casual fluency. Verb conjugation is often where the most confusion happens in French. My teaching relies on the specific skills I gained during a Master of Arts in Translation Studies at Kent State University.
