About Isobel
A tutor of seven years, awith experience managing tuition centres across Leeds and Bradford, geared towards English and mathematics tuition for KS1-KS4. I now tutor privately and specialise in primary (KS1, and KS2), including 11+ and SEND (ADHD, ADD, AS, GDD, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Dyspraxia).
My most significant experience is with selective independent and grammar schools within West Yorkshire.
I graduated from the University of Leeds with a first in Sociology in 2020.

My personal approach to successful tuition starts with a student-lead mindset. This means that clear academic and social goals are discussed openly, alongside the construction of a learning plan, tailored to individual needs and learning styles, (and SENDs where relevant).
My lessons are always interactive and engaging, using student's real-life experiences and scaffolding knowledge to support greater understanding of topics. Where appropriate, tools and resources are also brought into the lessons for extra fun - younger children tend to retain information more readily through play!
Attitude is also a big part of doing well in examinations and learning to love learning - I enjoy building confidence through positive affirmation, reflection and open communication.
Open lines of communication are also essential with parents and carers, achieved through written and verbal feedback. It’s necessary to work alongside school, to ensure that the whole team are motivated towards a common goal.
