About Lilufa
I am a freelance journalist for The Guardian, and I am a part-time private tutor. Working with young people to teach them new knowledge and/or help improve their educational attainment is my passion. A balanced approach is key. I always ensure my lessons are fun, but also beneficial for the student. I am always happy to hear students’ views as well as their parents. My lessons are usually two hours long with short breaks, to ensure effective learning. Having worked in education for the last 2-3 years, I have gathered an insight into the best teaching methods. As I have worked as a youth worker also, I am aware of the issues young people face, in terms of learning.
