About Atharva
I am an incoming Sophomore at San Jose State University, majoring in Mathematics. Teaching other students and seeing them succeed satisfies me. In the subjects I offer to teach, I know what it takes to for the students to get a good grasp of the concept and be able to apply it to solve more complicated problems using that concept. My goal is for my students to gain a lot of interest in the subject and be proficient to the point that they can solve complex problems using that concept and be able to help others. I also want to ensure that my students feel that learning is a privelage and pleasure.
I have extensive experience in Mathematics, teaching Algebra 1 and Algebra 2 one-on-one, resulting in improved grades for my students. I also tutored a student in Discrete Mathematics, helping them achieve an A. Additionally, I was a student tutor at an Algebra 2 class at Fremont high school, where I assisted students in understanding the Math topics, they were having difficulty with and guided them through the process of solving problems they are having difficulty solving.
I have also been heavily involved in competitive math. I actively participated in esteemed math competitions such as the AMC, Stanford Math Tournament, and Harvard-MIT Math Tournament. I placed 5th with my team in the Stanford Math Tournament Team event. I have also co-managed a math club, where I taught students concepts and problem-solving strategies that are necessary for competition math.
My diverse experiences have equipped me with the knowledge and ability to handle complex math problems effectively.
