My Teaching Method and Techniques

I integrate multiple perspectives and cross-subject collaboration, using tools like R.A.C.E.R. responses and signposts to enhance students’ analytical and writing skills.
A Typical Lesson Plan
A lesson in my classroom follows a structured yet flexible approach:
1. Anticipatory Set – Activates prior knowledge and engages students in discussion (e.g., cartoon analysis, debates, or prediction activities).
2. Instructional Strategies – I employ tiered assignments based on student readiness, ensuring scaffolding and differentiated learning (e.g., defining concepts, analyzing primary sources, or creating multimedia projects).
3. Student Choice & Differentiation – Students can choose how to demonstrate their understanding (e.g., storyboards, video projects, textbook editorials).
4. Collaboration & Interdisciplinary Learning – Lessons often incorporate ELA writing techniques, social studies standards, and even STEM elements (e.g., scaling for a geography project).
5. Assessment & Reflection – Students engage in self-reflection and critique their work, reinforcing metacognition and deeper learning.
