About David
I am a data engineer who graduated from the University of Birmingham where I studied Chemical and Energy Engineering. The reason I chose this degree and also the career path I chose, is because of my enthusiasm for understanding the way things work and solving the problems that arise. While I was studying and also in my career, I took part in a lot of sports activities, from the university track and football team, and at the moment, taking part in competitive county basketball. A skill I enjoy is knowledge sharing, I have always been open and ready to help and share knowledge with my classmates and colleagues, I like the aspect of growing as a team, and ensuring we are all the best version of ourselves. I am a very open-minded individual and easy to talk with, this helps me understand where people are coming from, no matter the background and also meet them halfway, this helps with understanding a person's perspective and aligning with their needs. I chose to help in mathematics because I am at a comfortable position with the subject, where I believe that I can help a student not only understand a topic they are struggling with but also make the subject fun for them. I plan to understand where the student is coming and be patient with them, as everybody works in different ways, and being able to work at their own pace, helps a lot.

I would aim to get to know the student and create a positive vibe between us where the student could talk to me about the problems with the subject, and help them with the topics they are struggling with. After getting to know the student, I will initially give the student a test that will cover all the topics taken over the year. With this test, it will help with knowing where the student is at, in terms of pace and understanding, and also highlight the topics the student struggles with, if there is any. From there I will have an understanding of which topics I will take extra time with, and the topics I could make the student more confident in. People work at different paces, so understanding that and working to that, not only helps the student but encourages them too. In terms of tracking the progress of the student, I will ensure that after every topic, a test will be taken to ensure that the topic is learnt to highest level. I will also ensure that we take monthly tests, so that the topics learnt over a month won't be forgotten, then at the end of the subject, when all topics are covered, there will be a test, which would cover all topics and help show whether all topics were learnt over the course of the lessons. The tests will help in showing the level of understanding, and whether the approach of teaching should be the same or another approach should be taken to help the student.

Perfect! There's a lot to say about David. He is very patient, sets realistic but targeted expectations and communicates clearly so that we are all on board with the tuition received. He sets out a lot of practice work which in my view helped my children and he takes time to explain this till they understand it. The truth is you must put in the work with David to see some noticeable results. He supported my son and daughter with their A Levels and GCSE respectively and their results were amazing. David has been a fantastic person to work with and we really appreciate all the services/help provided to our children

David is a good communicator who is patient, listens and can effectively explain concepts - he is very comfortable with/able to explain mathematical methods and concepts.
I highly recommend David as a maths tutor as he is helpful and able to motivate students to develop and improve their math skills and reach their full potential.David is friendly, patient, intelligent and fun. He is able to teach any concept because of these skills, which makes learning fun and achievable. He has very strong math skills and has the ability to adapt his style of teaching to suit every personality, need or level of difficulty. He has a a natural desire to help and teach others and help them succeed. This is a trait he has always had and started using this from high school to help improve the grades of friends in Maths because of his amazing teaching skills.
David is a someone I know and trust and a dedicated tutor. He has a knack for Maths and is great at making students understand what they are missing and gives great advice and techniques on how to solve problems
