About Ashley
I am a dedicated choreographer and dance mentor with 16 years of experience in dance production, competitions, showcases, and performance. My background includes hip-hop, contemporary, jazz, and improvisation. I am passionate about creating engaging choreography and lesson plans that are both fun and challenging. My goal is to inspire creativity, confidence, and self-expression through movement. Drawing from my performance experience, I strive to create an inclusive environment where students feel seen, heard, and valued. I believe dance is a powerful tool for personal growth and artistic development. My vision is to bridge the gap between movement and creative expression. I guide students in turning their ideas into movement while helping them discover their unique voice. My goal is to support each dancer's journey and help them build confidence one step at a time.

-Attendance: I take roll and check in with students on how they feel. ATTENDANCE IS IMPORTANT!
-Rules: I give rules that the students must follow before each lesson. I go over safety rules/guidelines.
-Warmups: I work on cardio and aerobics to get the body moving for 10-15 minutes. Then I work on lower-body stretches to help the body feel looser.
-Technique: I do center work and barre work training for 20 minutes. I work on plié, tendu, and relevé. Then I work across the floor.
-Across the floor: I work on the foundational moves for better technique and rhythm in the motion of dance.
-Choreography: Pretty simple choreography. I ask the students what type of song they’re looking for, what theme they’re thinking about for their performance, etc. I also evaluate and determine which level the student’s style is.
-Cool down: 5-10 minute cooldown stretch to ease the mind (very important). I give feedback about the choreo and how they felt. I remind them of the next lesson coming up.
