About Rebecca

I've worked as a professional video editor for over ten years in Los Angeles, cutting for fitness tech, interactive media, agency and hospitality clients — social edits, product videos, sizzle reels and long-form. Premiere Pro is my daily workspace, and I've inherited enough broken project files from other people to know exactly where beginners get stuck. I teach the version of Premiere you're on rather than an idealized one, and I focus on getting you to a finished, exported, watchable file as early as possible. I hold a B.A. in Communications, plus certificates in generative AI tools and content marketing, and I'm ID and diploma verified.

The first session usually ends with you having exported something. We cover project setup and media management (the single biggest cause of lost work), sequence settings that match your footage, and the interface without the overwhelm.

Then the editing core: three- and four-point edits, ripple and roll, J and L cuts, nesting, multicam and proxies if you're on a slower machine.

Audio gets real attention — levels, Essential Sound, noise reduction, music ducking — because bad audio kills a good edit.

We finish with Lumetri color, titles and graphics, and export presets for YouTube, Instagram, client delivery and archive.

Bring your own footage and we'll cut your real project. Lessons run over webcam with screen-share, which works especially well for this subject.

  • 1) Can you tell us about your first experience using a computer?

One of my earliest memories with computers was realizing they weren’t just machines, they were creative playgrounds. I was fascinated by how technology could turn ideas into something visual, interactive, and shareable. I started exploring editing, design, storytelling, and eventually content creation, which naturally evolved into a career built around digital media, strategy, and creative technology.
  • 2) What is the technological evolution that has marked you most and what will be, in your eyes, a turning point in this field?

The shift from traditional media to creator-driven digital platforms completely changed the way people communicate, learn, and build businesses. We went from consuming content passively to participating in it constantly.

The next major turning point is AI-assisted creativity and workflow automation. Not because AI replaces humans, but because it changes the speed at which humans can ideate, test, learn, and create. The people who thrive will be the ones who know how to combine human creativity with technological tools thoughtfully.
  • 3) Explain your expertise, your interest in it and, more broadly, its importance in the computer world.

My expertise is in digital storytelling, content strategy, creative production, and social-first media. I’m especially interested in the psychology behind communication online: what captures attention, what creates emotional connection, and how technology shapes the way people consume information.

In today’s world, computers are no longer just technical tools. They are communication tools, educational tools, creative tools, and business tools. Understanding how to use technology effectively has become essential across almost every industry.
  • 4) Do so-called 'visionaries', such as Bill Gates, Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerberg inspire you or do you have other role models?

I admire people who changed the way humans interact with technology, but I’m often more inspired by creative thinkers who understand people as much as they understand systems.

I’m inspired by individuals who combine creativity, communication, psychology, and innovation. People who can simplify complexity and make technology feel human are the ones I find most interesting.
  • 5) Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.

One thing that stuck with me early on was realizing that technical skill alone rarely makes content successful. I could spend hours perfecting an edit, but the projects that connected most with people were the ones driven by emotion, storytelling, and clarity.

That changed the way I approached both technology and creativity. It taught me that understanding human behavior is often just as important as understanding the software itself.
  • 6) What would you say to an uncomfortable person in front of a screen who says that "IT is too complicated"?

I’d tell them that most people who are good with technology started by feeling overwhelmed too.

Technology often looks intimidating because people think they need to know everything at once. In reality, learning computers is much more like learning a language. You build confidence one small step at a time, and eventually the things that once felt impossible become second nature.
  • 7) What are your other passions, related or non-related to computers?

Outside of technology and digital media, I’m passionate about photography, storytelling, psychology, branding, and understanding human behavior. I’m also very interested in education and teaching, especially helping people understand complex ideas in a way that feels approachable and engaging.
  • 8) What makes you a Superprof in IT?

What makes me a strong teacher is that I bridge the gap between technical knowledge and human understanding.

I don’t just explain how to use technology. I focus on helping people feel comfortable, confident, and capable while learning it. My background in creative strategy, digital media, and communication has taught me how to break complex ideas into approachable concepts that people can actually connect with and apply in real life.
