About
My name is Uma, I have completed a degree at accelerated level with focus on commercial singer-songwriting, and am currently completing a Masters at an accelerated level too at the Academy of Contemporary Music in London.
I have 3 major instruments which have inspired a career in music! Vocals, Guitar and Piano, however I also play Trumpet. As I continue in my professional progress, teaching others not only teaches me in return but allows me to do what I love the most while helping others!

My approach to tutoring is organic and efficient. First, understanding level and goals is imperative as what you choose to do with your instrument will inspire your unique/tailored approach and journey. Second, understanding the variety of tools/techniques you can utilise to play whatever you like. For a guitarist, this may be different types of chords or lines, for a trumpet player this can be reading music or using a mute, for the vocalist it can be range, agility, breath work or style. Finally, always knowing what comes next, being open to challenges, removing the pain from practice and turning it into hourless fun. The length of a lesson can be from 30 - 60 minutes, depending on your preference. Lessons are for beginner - intermediate levels. I am 21 years old, I am a full-time student, living in London, however have lived across continents tutoring primary and secondary school students. The guitar and vocals have inspired my professional career, I have played trumpet since year 4 and have engaged in countless orchestras and wind bands over the years.

Uma has been invested in music from a very young age, whether that be playing guitar, trumpet or vocality. She has experimented with numerous musical genres but is most proficient in country/pop.
