About Kira
I've loved teaching since the first time I was in front of a group of theater students, helping them learn lines and music for the performance they were rehearsing for. I spent four years working together with other staff and teachers to ensure not only did they learn about telling a story, but also the technical parts of acting and theater. Most importantly, I wanted it to be a fun experience for everyone involved. I find teaching unlike anything else—it's something I'm incredibly passionate about and always want to keep an upbeat energy that keeps my students engaged.

I want to understand the student's needs first and foremost and what exactly they need assistance with. From there, I can decide if they would need supplemental lessons or extra help with a specific assignment. I prefer to work with the student and build structure and curriculum based on the individual's needs. Lessons would take about an hour but my timing is flexible depending on what the student needs. I spent several years mentoring students in this age range in theater most specifically, and have helped peers. Also, I've helped younger students build good study habits over the years with advice and effort I was willing to put into their education as well as my own. One-to-one lessons are best for my teaching, but small groups (less than five) are manageable. I also prefer to work with ages 11-17.
