About Richard
Teaching has been my passion for over 15 years, and I still genuinely enjoy helping young people build confidence, overcome challenges, and achieve their goals. Having taught GCSEs, A Levels, and Scottish qualifications, I bring a wide breadth of knowledge and experience to every lesson. I understand that every pupil is different, so I tailor my approach to suit individual needs, ensuring lessons are engaging, supportive, and focused on helping each student succeed.

I have extensive experience supporting pupils who have low confidence, or no confidence at all, in mathematics. Lessons begin in a relaxed, friendly and encouraging environment, focusing on building understanding from the basics and developing confidence step by step. As confidence grows, we work through the course at a pace that suits the pupil, targeting areas for improvement and progressing towards agreed goals, whether that is passing an exam, achieving a particular grade, or simply feeling more comfortable with maths.
