About Jakob
I myself am a keen neuroscience student interested in Alzheimer's research and other aspects of pathological molecular biology related to protein folding.
I also have a passion for teaching. Scientists are the ones society collectively trusts to solve its problems and guide it forward. My mission is simple, to assist in the formation of the finest scientists.

I will conduct targeted tutoring focusing on a student's weaknesses and using scientifically backed learning techniques.
First, we will determine the goal, usually a certain grade on an exam. Then we set out a roadmap and revision routine. Tutoring sessions can vary in frequency depending on the wishes of the client, but the standard is 1 lesson a week with homework.
I will give tasks to be done over the week and our in-person/online meetings will consist of reviewing them and going over difficult areas in more detail.
I also put stress management at the heart of my teaching. For knowledge to be useful you have to be able to call upon it under pressure. I help students develop these skills in a friendly and constructive way. I take pride in this and would happily discuss my tactics before somebody selects me as their tutor.
