About Steve
Mathematics has been the focus of my career for over twenty years, and I still genuinely enjoy helping students discover that they are capable of achieving far more than they ever believed possible.
I am a current UK Mathematics teacher with experience as a former Head of Mathematics, former examiner and senior leader. Working in schools every day means I stay completely up to date with curriculum changes, examination requirements and the challenges students face in today's classrooms.
Throughout my career I have taught students of all abilities—from those who simply want to pass their examinations to those aiming for the highest grades and places at leading universities. Watching a student's confidence grow is one of the most rewarding parts of teaching.
My approach is calm, patient and encouraging. I believe every student can succeed when they are given clear explanations, the right level of challenge and someone who genuinely believes in their ability.

I don't just teach mathematics – I teach students how to succeed in mathematics.
As a current UK mathematics teacher, former Head of Mathematics and former examiner, I understand exactly what examiners are looking for and how students can consistently achieve top grades.
Every lesson is carefully tailored to the individual student. I break complex ideas into simple, logical steps, helping students develop confidence, deeper understanding and the ability to solve unfamiliar problems independently.
My lessons focus on:
Improving exam technique and mathematical thinking
Building confidence in difficult topics
Closing knowledge gaps quickly
Developing long-term understanding rather than memorising methods
Preparing students for GCSE and A-Level examinations with structured practice and targeted feedback
Lessons are delivered online using a professional interactive whiteboard, making sessions engaging, clear and highly effective. Students receive challenging but supportive tuition, with plenty of opportunities to ask questions and develop confidence.
Whether you're aiming to secure a pass, achieve a Grade 9 at GCSE or an A/A* at A-Level, my goal is simple: to help every student achieve more than they thought possible.
