About Joel
My name is Joel Hiruy, I'm a current sixth-form student studying A-Level Maths, Computer Science, and Economics, with predicted grades of AAA (Including an A in maths). I want to teach because of my personal experience. As a former GCSE student, I know about all of the potential struggles as an academic, and how much having someone available to support you can help. I personally had a private tutor during my GCSEs and I could actively see how much it contributed towards my growth in my academics, allowing me to do well. As a result of this, I want to give students younger than me this very opportunity that I had, for them to thrive in their academics.

My tutoring strategy will produce results. As someone who has been through the education system myself (including GCSEs), I know exactly what it takes for one to succeed academically, and now I aim to pass this accumulated knowledge to my students. My sessions will be oriented around practice, as getting students as comfortable with exam questions as possible is a key factor to GCSE success; I found this extremely helpful when preparing for my exams. If students need help with a topic of any difficulty, I will aid them in gaining a better understanding of that topic, so that they'll be able to achieve the top marks in every topic, improving their overall grade.
