About Zarah
My name is Zarah Shamim and I am a first year undergraduate student studying Biomedical Sciences in Oxford.
I understand the struggles of learning and understanding scientific topics and want to help others with the methods and tips I've gathered over the past 4 years of exams.
Covid - 19 has added a lot of extra pressure and importance to all exams for students and I want to use my struggles to help others.
Biology for me is a fascinating subject and I personally believe that the more interest you have in a particular topic the more you will excel at teaching and sharing your interest with others.

Studying and revising for a science subject can be really taxing and frustrating, a fact I learnt from experience.
My method to achieving high grades and feeling confident in a topic is a targeted, systematic routine:
1) Gather Spec Point and RAG them all
2) Write any questions that come to mind whilst you are in class or reading up on a topic (this helps to further develop understanding and cement knowledge)
3) Come to lessons with topics prepared to go over in a teaching lesson
4) EXAMS QUESTIONS to practice what is being learnt and utilising active recall.
My lessons are for Year 10 and 11's studying both combined and higher science.
Lessons are approximately 45 minutes - 1 hour long depending on topic
Homework is set but on 5 questions {GCSE's are hard enough without too much added workload). Questions are simply aimed to help strengthen your knowledge.
