About Gia
I’m a passionate writing instructor with a B.A. in English (Creative Writing emphasis) and a Certificate in Intercultural Fluency from Lindenwood University. I’ve been writing stories since childhood, completed my first novella at fifteen, and am a self-published poet, short-story writer, and novelist— my debut, Bread of Adversity, is a historical fiction novel set in WWII France. As both an educator and author, I bring safe structure, empathy, and playfulness to every lesson. My teaching philosophy centers on exploration over perfection — I encourage students to dream big, take creative risks, make lots of mistakes, and view writing as a space for discovery. I design each session with a clear rhythm and focus so students always know what to expect, while still leaving room for spontaneous imagination. Aloha! I’m Gia MarajaLove-- a lifelong daydreamer, English degree-holder (B.A., Creative Writing), licensed public-school teacher, and self-published novelist, based in Hawai‘i.
I’ve been writing stories since childhood and have never stopped chasing the “what-ifs” that make life and storytelling meaningful.
My lessons are playful and imaginative-- designed for safe exploration, not rigidity or perfection.
Every session has a gentle rhythm to it: we begin with a creative warm-up to clear your day away, move into a focused skill or worldbuilding concept, and spend most of our time deep in conversation about your current project: a story, a world, and a handful of characters. I’m here to guide with a lamplight, not to dictate where you go.
I can help you with:
️Story development and creative writing craft
Worldbuilding and lore design (fantasy, sci-fi, historical, etc.)
Character creation and emotional realism
Narrative structure, editing, and feedback on works-in-progress
Any technical writing skills
All ages and experience levels are welcome, so long as you’re open to imagining freely and at least pondering your writing outside our lesson times.
Lesson Format:
40-minute Zoom sessions ($45)
1-hour FaceTime or WhatsApp sessions ($55) *(first lesson=$25 for 40m / $35 for 1h)
