I trained as a school teacher 30 years ago, and opted to move into community education to teach individuals who struggle with standard approaches to learning. I retrained as a counsellor to include a deeper level of listening to students who are having emotional difficulties to manage stress, anxiety and chronic illness. I recently retrained again as a mindfulness meditation teacher to offer self-care coping skills.
