About Sérgio
I usually guide students to work on their knowledge of the language, using it as a way to connect to new vocabulary and grammar items. My focus is on the actual use of the language, leading the student to speak only the target language, with exercises mostly consisting of question & answer. Grammar theory is always a resource that can be used or left in the background, according to the student's need.

I have a degree in Language & Literature from UNESP, but I have been studying and teaching languages since I was a teenager. I really enjoy using film clips and series in class, and Ialways bring elements of the culture and history of the countries and peoples speaking the target language. I initially learned English (Received Pronunciation), but I am familiar with most English variants and I leave it up to the student to either choose a regional variant or not.
