About Emily
I am a dedicated flute tutor with 6 years of experience teaching High School, College, and adult students. I have taught 150-200 students, helping them achieve technical mastery, confidence, and a love for music. My approach to teaching is patient, flexible, and centred on each student’s individual goals and abilities.
A milestone I cherish was guiding a student from struggling with basic notes to performing confidently in a public recital. Experiences like these reinforce my passion for teaching and the transformative power of music.
I create lessons that are engaging, practical, and inspiring, encouraging students to develop both skill and creativity. My goal is to help every student enjoy the learning process, overcome challenges, and reach their full potential while building a lifelong connection with music.

I teach flute using a practical, motivating, and student-focused approach. By using real-life examples and case studies, I make musical concepts easy to relate to and apply. I emphasise motivation, inspiring students to stay consistent, confident, and excited about learning music.
Problem-solving is a key part of my methodology. I guide students to identify challenges in technique or expression and help them develop solutions independently. Integrity is a core principle, fostering discipline, honesty, and respect in every lesson. My teaching is flexible, tailored to the student’s abilities, pace, and goals.
Along with flute, I provide guidance in music theory and fundamentals to ensure a complete understanding. This methodology makes learning enjoyable, effective, and personalised, helping students grow into skilled, confident, and creative musicians.
