About Ruairi
Hi! My name is Ruairí, and I’m a passionate and experienced concertina player and tutor with over 8 of experience teaching students of all levels. I specialize in Irish traditional music and have performed at sessions, festivals, and events across Ireland. I hold a Diploma in Music Performance from the University of West London and have been involved in Irish traditional music for most of my life. I've served as Chairperson of my college’s Traditional Irish Music Society, working with musicians of all backgrounds, organizing events, workshops, and performances that celebrate our rich musical heritage. In my lessons, I aim to make learning the concertina enjoyable, engaging, and tailored to your personal goals. Whether you’re an absolute beginner or an advanced player looking to refine your style, I’ll help you build confidence, develop your skills, and expand your repertoire.
