About Zakwan

As a second-year Computer Science student at the University of Leeds, engaged in a degree apprenticeship with PwC, one of the Big 4 firms, my passion for teaching stems from a desire to share the cutting-edge knowledge and real-world skills I've acquired. This unique blend of academic learning and professional experience positions me to offer insights not just from textbooks, but directly from industry practices. I aim to inspire students by demonstrating how computer science principles are applied in solving complex problems, making learning more relevant and impactful.

About the lesson

My approach to tutoring in computer science is interactive and personalised, focusing on understanding concepts through practical application. I employ a mix of teaching methodologies including direct instruction for foundational concepts, guided problem-solving to develop critical thinking skills, and project-based learning to apply knowledge in real-world scenarios. Lessons typically last one hour, designed to maximise engagement and comprehension within a focused timeframe. With a strong background in computer science and experience tutoring students up to A-levels, my qualifications include a degree in the field and practical experience in software development. My lessons are tailored for students of varying levels, from beginners to those preparing for A-level exams, across a broad age range, emphasising clear understanding, logical reasoning, and coding proficiency.

My son is currently studying a level computer science and is finding it rather difficult, I then came across Zak. Zak has been helping my child vastly and has been providing him all the support to help him during his exams and learning. My son feels so much more confident in computer science now and just recently went up a whole grade in his exam all thanks to Zak’s tutoring :)
