Hello, I’m Schet Varma, a dedicated Computer Science student at UNSW. With a strong focus on programming and problem-solving. I’ve maintained a high distinction WAM in my comp subjects. My passion for teaching extends beyond just coding—I’ve spent over three years tutoring in both Mathematics and IT, helping students grasp complex concepts with ease. I adopt a student-centered approach in my tutoring, focusing on the unique needs and learning styles of each student. My teaching techniques emphasize a deep understanding of concepts over rote memorization. By incorporating real-world examples and problem-solving exercises, I ensure that students can apply what they learn in practical contexts. I place particular importance on building a strong foundation in subjects like mathematics and coding, as this is essential for mastering more advanced topics.
Typically, each lesson lasts between 60 to 90 minutes, depending on the student’s age, attention span, and the complexity of the material. This time frame allows us to cover the subject matter thoroughly without overwhelming the student, maintaining engagement and focus throughout.
My qualifications and experience as a tutor include being an active participant in the Shack Tutoring initiative at ARC UNSW, where I have guided high school students through mathematics. My focus has been on improving their conceptual understanding, time management, and problem-solving skills. In addition, my volunteer work with the Angel Xpress Foundation involved teaching underprivileged children, helping to bridge educational gaps and empower them through knowledge. These experiences have honed my ability to adapt to various learning environments and meet the diverse needs of students.
I offer lessons for students from grades K-10 in mathematics and IT, as well as in coding languages. My lessons cater to students of all ages and skill levels, from beginners to those looking to refine their abilities.
