I prefer learning by doing, first I make my student to read the topic loudly for me. Then I ask then what did he/she understood, then correct their understanding. This makes them confident and independent, and can understand sonething in future without anyone's help. I make sure they solve a problem by themselves, yes I do help them in solving it, but I make sure they feel like they have solved it, all by their own.
