About Akmal
Hi, I’m Akmal, a Computer Science undergraduate with a strong passion for programming and teaching.
I am currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and have completed my IGCSE and A-level studies, giving me firsthand experience with international and Malaysian-style education systems.
I have been passionate about programming from a young age and have developed strong skills in Python, while continuing to expand my knowledge in C++, C#, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS. My background in Computer Science allows me to teach both programming fundamentals and syllabus-based concepts in a way that is structured and easy to understand.
I currently tutor a 12-year-old student following the Malaysian syllabus, where I teach Computer Science concepts and programming using Python. This experience has helped me understand how to adapt explanations to different learning styles and make difficult concepts more approachable for younger students.
Having recently gone through the IGCSE and A-level system myself, I understand the challenges students face when learning abstract Computer Science topics. My teaching approach focuses on breaking down complex ideas into smaller, logical steps, helping students understand why something works rather than simply memorizing answers. My goal is not only to help students improve their grades, but also to build their confidence, problem-solving skills, and genuine interest in Computer Science and programming.

My lessons focus on making Computer Science clear, practical, and engaging. I teach students by building concepts from the basics and gradually progressing towards more advanced topics through explanations, examples, and hands-on practice.
I can help students with:

For syllabus-based students, I cover both theoretical concepts and practical programming skills, helping students understand how concepts apply in real programming situations.
My teaching style is patient and interactive. I encourage students to ask questions, experiment with code, and develop their own problem-solving approach instead of relying on memorization.
Lessons are typically 1 hour long and conducted online through platforms such as Zoom. I use screen sharing to explain concepts, demonstrate programming examples, and work through problems together with the student.
