About Soham

Hi, I’m Soham, a Mathematics and Physics tutor based in London. I’m studying for an MSc in Banking & International Finance at Bayes Business School, and before that I spent three years as a software engineer at Barclays. Maths and Physics have been at the heart of everything I’ve done, from engineering to finance, and I’ve seen first-hand how powerful they become once they truly click.

I’ve taught secondary and A Level students for over three years, and what keeps me teaching is the moment a student goes from “I can’t do this” to solving a problem on their own. I know these subjects can feel intimidating, so I create a relaxed, supportive space where questions are always welcome and progress is celebrated.

I teach Mathematics and Physics from KS3 to GCSE and A Level. I have over three years of experience tutoring at a private tuition centre, along with a strong quantitative background from working as a software engineer in banking. I’m now studying for an MSc in London. I build understanding first, starting each topic from the core idea with clear examples, and then move on to exam-style practice tailored to the student’s syllabus.

Lessons usually last one hour, with 90-minute sessions available for A Level or exam revision. I start with a short assessment to find gaps and set goals, and I give regular feedback along the way. I’m patient and encouraging, and I aim for every student to leave more confident than they arrived.
