About Marvin

Hello! I'm a dedicated and patient tutor based in Manchester, with over five years of experience delivering high-quality virtual lessons in both English Language and Information Technology. I hold a Master’s degree in Information Technology and a Bachelor’s in Computer Science, and I’m passionate about helping students achieve their academic and personal learning goals. Whether you're preparing for your GCSEs or A-Levels in English, or looking to strengthen your IT skills from beginner to intermediate level, I offer structured, engaging, and results-driven lessons tailored to your needs. With a calm and supportive teaching style, I create a comfortable learning environment where every student can grow in confidence and ability.

About the lesson

My Approach to Tutoring I use a personalised, student-centred approach that focuses on building confidence, reinforcing foundational knowledge, and applying concepts through practical exercises. Whether it's English or IT, I tailor my lessons to each student’s learning style, pace, and goals. Teaching Techniques & Methodology For English: I focus on comprehension, grammar, vocabulary building, and exam strategies. I use past papers, real-life examples, and interactive discussion to improve critical thinking and written expression. For IT: I teach core concepts using real-world applications and hands-on tasks. I break down complex topics like programming, productivity tools, and digital literacy into easy-to-understand lessons. Lesson Duration A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes, but can be adjusted based on the student's needs and goals. Qualifications & Experience I hold a Master’s degree in Information Technology and a Bachelor’s in Computer Science. I have over 5 years of experience providing virtual IT lessons and educational support. I’m also proficient in Microsoft Office, basic Python, and web development, which I incorporate into my IT lessons. Who My Lessons Are For English: Students preparing for GCSE and A-Level exams, or anyone looking to strengthen their academic or general English. IT: Beginners to intermediate learners of all ages who want to improve their digital skills, understand IT concepts, or explore career-relevant tech skills.
