  • When and why did you develop an interest in your chosen field?

I developed an interest in math, statistics, and computer science because I have always been analytical and fascinated with technology. When I was 14/15 years old, I realized that I was into technology. I joined my high school coding club, and this led me to study computer science in my undergraduate degree. Throughout my undergraduate studies, I continued to fall in love with logical reasoning, algorithms, statistics, linear algebra, discrete math, and calculus. Simultaneously, I also developed a love for teaching. Through tutoring with my local library's tutoring program for struggling students at the university, I developed a love for teaching and helping people achieve understanding in math, stats and computer science. Now, combining my passion for teaching and math/technology has led me here, where, as a private tutor for hire, I can help people develop their understanding in the subjects I am also passionate about.
  • What makes you passionate about your subject?

I am passionate about math because I love logic, reasoning and problem solving. Furthermore, I love computer science because it is the application of the components of math that I love -- logic, reasoning and problem solving -- to everyday problems dealing with computers and technology as a whole.
  • What do you like about tutoring? What makes you a "Superprof"?

I love tutoring because I love to teach. I love being able to help people achieve understanding of concepts that they were previously not exposed to, or felt would be impossible to attain. It's magical getting to share knowledge with others, and the sense of community and bonding that comes out of it.
  • Do you have any role models, a teacher who inspired you? Please explain.

I had a high school teacher called Mr. Medjani who helped foster my love for computer science. I remember taking my first coding class and being a part of a coding competition alongside my peers. Ultimately, Mr. Medjani helped foster my love for computer science, which I still carry with me today.
  • What are your keys to success?

Commitment and Hardwork: "Don't give something 5 minutes of your time if you are not willing to give 5 years." I believe in putting in work to see results.
S.M.A.R.T. goals: have a vision for yourself and use the SMART acronym to see if your vision and goals are achievable. Ask yourself, are your goals specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and time-bound?
Networking: "No man is an Island unto himself". We must go out of our way to connect with others, exchange ideas, and more. Most jobs you will get in your lifetime are through connections you have.
Research: go out of your way to perform due diligence whenever possible. Whether in the workplace or academia, being able to perform due diligence and research will always be considered an asset.
