About Marc

I like language! I learned Japanese and French at school and have since learned Indonesian. But, I was born in an English-speaking family, so know English best. To stay relevant, I watch documentaries and read articles. I understand what is fact and what is opinion or a wish. I view promotions to learn how to use English to persuade. I take in story via books, movies or television series. This helps me to understand how to show a truth rather than just tell it. I make good decisions when I know what a writer wants. Is it to inform, instruct, make me laugh, or persuade me to volunteer or donate. If I know why, I can decide whether I agree or disagree. I love creative writing. When I write fiction, I want readers to know my characters (in the stories) and how they are feeling. So, when they do something that is not their normal, the reader understands.

About the lesson

I teach adults (at least 18 years old) who can already speak some English and want to improve. Students may be at the Elementary, Intermediate or Advanced level. For example, you might want to pass an exam or be more confident speaking, writing, or reading in English. You might need to work in a job (with English language) or want to become friends with people whose first language is English. I will use a set course to teach skills, but will also help you be brave in using them. Lessons will generally be 60 minutes.
