About Monica
Hi! I'm Monica, a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant with a Bachelor's degree from Purdue University and a passion for helping people understand things that initially seem difficult or overwhelming.
I earned my Bachelor's degree in Computer Graphics Technology and Virtual Product Integration (CAD) from Purdue University before earning my Associate's degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant. Both areas of my education taught me to approach problems from different angles, break complicated information into smaller pieces, and think about how different parts fit together.
I especially enjoy helping students discover that struggling with something doesn't mean they're bad at it. Sometimes they just need the directions explained differently, a difficult problem broken into smaller steps, or a chance to work through it without feeling rushed or judged.
For younger students, I provide homework help, study skills, organization, test preparation, and support with subjects such as elementary and middle-school science and math. I'm particularly interested in helping students develop the skills they can carry with them into future classes—how to approach a difficult assignment, how to study effectively, and how to recognize what they do and don't understand.
I want students to feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. Learning is supposed to involve both!
My goal is for a student to finish a session feeling a little more confident and thinking, “I can do this!”

My goal is to help students become more confident and independent learners—not simply give them the answers. We'll start by looking at what the student needs to accomplish and figuring out where they need help. I meet students where they are, break challenging assignments or concepts into manageable steps, and use examples, questions, visual explanations, and encouragement to help them work through the material themselves.
For homework, I may help a student understand directions, work through an example, or break a difficult assignment into smaller steps. For studying, we might turn class notes into questions, practice recalling information, work through sample problems, or develop a simple study plan for an upcoming test.
My approach is patient, encouraging, and flexible. If something isn't making sense one way, we'll find another way to approach it. I want students to leave each session feeling capable—not like someone else had to do the work for them.
