About Carl
I’m an APA Titled Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist with experience practicing in both New Zealand and Australia since 2016.
I completed my Bachelor of Physiotherapy at the University of Otago, a Postgraduate Certificate in Applied Practice in Health, and a Master of Physiotherapy (Musculoskeletal) at the University of Queensland.
My clinical interests include complex musculoskeletal rehabilitation, persistent pain, hip pathology, hypermobility and dance medicine. I’ve supervised physiotherapy students from Wintec, the University of Otago and Australian universities, provided one-to-one mentoring, and delivered clinical education to physiotherapists across multiple clinics.
Teaching is a part of physiotherapy I particularly enjoy. I’m most interested in helping students and new graduates move beyond memorizing conditions and become more confident with clinical reasoning, problem-solving and navigating the realities of practice.

Knowing the conditions is one thing; working out which possibilities matter when a patient is actually in front of you is another.
I offer online sessions for final-year physiotherapy students and new grads who want to build confidence in clinical reasoning and real-world practice.
Sessions can focus on interactive case problem-solving, differential diagnosis, the Body Chart Game, choosing useful questions and examinations, understanding investigations, referral decisions, scope of practice, and navigating the realities of working as a physio in New Zealand.
I can also help with the transition from university into practice, including career questions, difficult clinical situations, communicating with other health professionals, and knowing when to manage, seek advice or refer.
Sessions are practical, discussion-based and tailored to what you actually want to improve.
