About Christiana
I'm a recent graduate of the University of Richmond and received a B.A. in International Studies. I have been classically trained in voice for 6 years at both high school and university levels. Although I have performed classically for many years, I also specialize in jazz and pop vocal performance. I have performed with two university jazz bands, a pop/r&b local band, sung at a K-pop festival in Maryland, and won the Changwon singing competition at the district level in 2018. I've worked with many languages while singing including Spanish, Korean, German, and Italian, so I can help with pronunciation as well.

I'm here to guide anyone who’s on their journey to develop their voices to their fullest potential. Any experience level is welcome! In our lessons, we will practice exercises and techniques that support what they hope to achieve in their time with me. Before I begin teaching, I will ask the student to prepare a minute of a song and we will discuss their singing goals and how they want our time together to help with those goals. Some examples of goals can include, but are not limited to, expanding range, improving pitch accuracy, developing chest/mix/head voice, lessening vocal fatigue, bettering stage performance techniques, or just working on some repertoire. My approach is very individualized, so don't hesitate to think outside the box!

Having learned both Spanish and Korean as a foreign language, Christiana understands what it takes to effectively acquire second language skills. She is versed in both conversational and academic Spanish and living abroad in a Spanish-speaking country has given her an edge over textbook Spanish. You will find a compassionate, dedicated instructor in Christiana.
Christiana has years of experience with the Spanish language, including having lived in Latin America for months. She knows the ins and outs of learning multiple languages herself. Also, she is incredibly kind and patient, while motivating you to do your best. If you're looking to start learning Spanish or brush up on your skills, she would be a great teacher!

Please let me know at least 12 hrs in advance if you need to cancel our lesson. Any last-minute cancellations will result in payment of half the lesson fee.
