About Sam
Sam Villano is a classically trained pianist, baritone and composer. He is experienced in teaching classical voice, piano and music composition, as well as musical theatre/broadway, art song, and opera repertoire. He has been teaching music since 2020.
He graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University with a Bachelor of Music in Composition, cum laude, in 2020. In 2019, he was invited to attend the New York University Summer Film Scoring Workshop and the NYU/Broadcast Music International Television Scoring Workshop.
He has performed around the world, including in Chicago; Las Vegas; Orlando; Barcelona, Spain; Montreal, Canada; Poznań, Poland, and Cape Town, South Africa.
When Sam isn’t teaching, he enjoys attending performances of the Houston Symphony, the Houston Grand Opera, and many other community arts organizations in the Houston area.

Lessons with me are fun and focused. A typical lesson will involve warming up, singing through your repertoire and developing your skills as a musician in a variety of styles, including musical theatre, art song, and classical music. We will also spend time on music theory, ear training and more. We may also spend time preparing for things like solo and ensemble, musicals/shows you are in, or college auditions.
Lessons are ideal for those middle school-aged and up who are interested in learning more about music, being involved in music competitions, and developing themselves as musicians.
Regardless of your age or experience level, I believe that learning music should be fun and exciting. As a teacher, I encourage all my students to explore their creativity when making music, and I give them the foundation to develop a lifelong passion for being a musician.
