About Elliot
With 16 years of experience teaching the flute to high school, college students, and adults, I have taught around 300 students so far. My teaching philosophy focuses on understanding each student’s individual goals and making learning enjoyable and practical. I emphasize strong fundamentals in technique, tone, and rhythm, while encouraging musical creativity and self-expression.
Many of my students have performed in concerts, competitions, and school events, which I take pride in as achievements for both them and myself. My aim is to create a supportive and inspiring environment where students feel confident, motivated, and excited to learn the flute while developing a lifelong love for music.

My flute teaching methodology focuses on flexibility, communication, and real-world learning. I understand that each student learns differently, so I adapt my teaching methods to match their learning style and pace.
I clearly explain flute techniques such as breath support, finger control, articulation, tone development, and rhythm. Lessons are interactive, allowing students to actively participate and learn comfortably. Regular feedback helps students improve step by step.
I use real-life examples and case studies from different music styles to show how flute skills are applied in real performances. This practical approach helps students connect exercises with actual music.
In addition to flute lessons, I teach related subjects like basic music theory, ear training, rhythm training, scale development, and simple improvisation. I also support students in building strong practice habits and musical expression. My aim is to help students become confident and expressive flute players.
