About Hector
I offer private guitar lessons in the areas of Sidcup, Chislehurst, Bromley, Orpington and Bexley. For students intending to take grade exams, I also teach music notation. For rock, country and pop fans I also offer electric and acoustic guitar lessons for those looking to jam their favourite songs.
I have been teaching in London for approximately 3 years. During that time I have had the fortune of teaching over 60 students and prepared many for scholarship auditions and/or further education in music. In addition, I have also gained experience teaching guitar and notation to children still at primary school.

For students still at school, I strongly advise that our lessons follow the Trinity and ABRSM grade syllabus for classical guitar. Naturally, the grading is structured in a way that challenges a student in relation to their experience on the instrument. The curriculum contains studies, exercises and core pieces designed to improve their technique and develop a student's understanding of music theory. This can also be huge benefit later on if a student decides to study music for GCSE. However, I also prepare my own transcriptions and lesson plans for students who are completely new to the guitar or self-taught, and really struggling to make any progress.

Perfect! Hector is an engaging, positive and encouraging tutor. He really knows his stuff and teaches it perfectly to match whatever level you are at. I would highly recommend him as I am only a few lessons in but feel I have learnt so much already!
