About Reese
I am a chess tutor with 7 years of experience and a background in B.A. Cognitive Science and M.Sc. Game Theory. Over the years, I have helped learners from beginners to competitive players enhance their strategic thinking, tactical awareness, and overall chess understanding. My teaching emphasizes clarity, interactive practice, critical reflection, and personal guidance to foster growth and confidence.
Lessons are customized to each student’s level, pace, and goals, emphasizing the development of independent thinking, problem-solving, and competitive resilience. Students are encouraged to analyze positions deeply, anticipate opponent strategies, and explore creative approaches.
Beyond teaching, I stay engaged with chess theory, tournament analysis, and problem-solving research. Witnessing students improve in calculation, strategy, and confidence is deeply rewarding. Supporting their intellectual growth, strategic thinking, and passion for chess remains the most fulfilling aspect of my work.

Learners are guided to think several moves ahead, anticipate opponent responses, and develop both short-term tactics and long-term strategies. Each session encourages reflective thinking, iterative practice, and active engagement, ensuring that students gain confidence and clarity in their understanding of the game.
Advanced lessons focus on deep analysis of openings, positional strategy, middlegame planning, endgame mastery, and tournament preparation.
