About Zara
My fascination with chemistry started with curiosity about how substances interact, transform, and shape the world around us. This inspired me to pursue an M.Sc in Organic Chemistry, where I gained in-depth knowledge of molecular structures, reaction mechanisms, and laboratory techniques. Over 11 years of teaching, I have guided learners from basic chemical concepts to advanced understanding and independent problem-solving skills.
I approach teaching with patience, clarity, and adaptability. I tailor lessons to each student’s learning style and pace, using demonstrations, problem-solving exercises, and conceptual discussions to reinforce understanding. My goal is to nurture curiosity, build confidence, and develop analytical reasoning in each learner.
Outside teaching, I stay engaged with chemistry through research, reading, and hands-on experimentation. Teaching chemistry is immensely rewarding because I witness students grow in both knowledge and confidence, applying their skills effectively and developing a genuine interest in the subject. Supporting learners in reaching their full potential in chemistry inspires my teaching every day.

Chemistry lessons aim to make complex chemical principles accessible, understandable, and practical. I guide learners through molecular structures, reaction mechanisms, stoichiometry, thermodynamics, kinetics, and laboratory techniques using interactive explanations, real-world examples, and problem-solving exercises. My teaching emphasises understanding the ‘why’ behind each concept, allowing learners to develop strong conceptual foundations and critical thinking skills.
Beginners work on fundamental topics such as atomic structure, bonding, and simple reactions with hands-on examples. Intermediate learners explore more complex reactions, equilibria, organic chemistry concepts, and analytical techniques. Advanced learners focus on reaction mechanisms, synthesis planning, experimental design, and data analysis, integrating theoretical knowledge with practical skills. Each lesson includes exercises, demonstrations, and discussions to reinforce understanding and promote independent thinking.
Studying chemistry develops analytical thinking, precision, and problem-solving skills. Students gain confidence in approaching both theoretical and practical challenges, understanding chemical principles, and applying them to real-world contexts. My goal is to help learners develop a solid, long-lasting foundation in chemistry while fostering curiosity, critical reasoning, and appreciation for the intricacies of chemical science.
