About Harper
My interest in chemistry began in school, fascinated by how substances interact and transform. I earned a Bachelor’s in Chemistry and have spent 6 years teaching students at all levels. I focus on making concepts clear, using simple explanations, practical examples, and interactive exercises to ensure students gain confidence and competence.
I emphasise a hands-on approach to learning, encouraging experimentation, problem-solving, and independent thinking. Students are guided to connect theory with practical applications, developing skills that go beyond rote learning.
Outside teaching, I engage in reading recent research, exploring experiments, and learning new laboratory techniques to enhance my lessons. Teaching chemistry is fulfilling because I witness students develop analytical thinking, curiosity, and confidence. Helping learners see chemistry as both approachable and exciting is one of the most rewarding aspects of my career.

Chemistry can be engaging when students connect theory to tangible experiments and examples. My lessons cover atomic structure, bonding, reactions, stoichiometry, and practical laboratory applications. I explain concepts in simple language, providing clear examples and guiding students through exercises that reinforce understanding. Lessons are interactive, encouraging curiosity, experimentation, and logical reasoning. My teaching aims to make chemistry approachable, relatable, and inspiring while building a strong foundation for exams, academic projects, and future study.
Lesson levels are carefully structured. Beginners focus on basic atomic theory, simple reactions, and understanding periodic trends. Intermediate students study chemical equations, stoichiometry, thermochemistry, and reaction mechanisms. Advanced learners explore spectroscopy, analytical techniques, complex organic reactions, and laboratory planning. Each lesson integrates exercises, discussions, and practice problems to ensure mastery of both theoretical and practical aspects of chemistry.
Studying chemistry improves analytical thinking, systematic observation, and problem-solving skills. Students gain confidence in handling experiments, interpreting data, and understanding scientific principles. My goal is to empower learners with knowledge that is both academic and practical, helping them develop curiosity, scientific thinking, and confidence to tackle more advanced studies in chemistry and related fields.
