About Asha
I have 10 years of experience teaching chemistry to students preparing for school, competitive exams, and university courses. I hold an M.Sc in Organic and Analytical Chemistry, which gave me a strong foundation in molecular structure, reaction mechanisms, and analytical techniques. This training allows me to deliver lessons that are both thorough and accessible, balancing theory with practical application.
My teaching philosophy emphasises patience, clarity, and engagement. I create an interactive environment where learners feel encouraged to ask questions, explore experiments, and develop problem-solving skills. Lessons are structured to build confidence and mastery gradually, ensuring concepts are deeply understood rather than memorised.
Outside the classroom, I remain engaged in chemistry through reading contemporary research, laboratory exploration, and analysing chemical processes in everyday contexts. Witnessing students progress from uncertainty to skilful understanding is profoundly rewarding. Supporting learners to confidently navigate chemistry while cultivating analytical thinking is one of the most fulfilling aspects of my work.

Chemistry becomes approachable and exciting when students see it as the science of matter and transformations around them. My lessons focus on understanding atomic and molecular structure, chemical bonding, reaction types, stoichiometry, thermodynamics, kinetics, and organic mechanisms. I emphasise conceptual clarity alongside practical applications, helping learners see patterns, connect theory to experiments, and approach complex problems methodically. Each session incorporates guided exercises, illustrative examples, and stepwise reasoning to ensure comprehension and engagement.
Lesson plans are tailored according to proficiency levels. Beginners focus on basic atomic structure, periodic table trends, simple reactions, and balancing equations. Intermediate learners delve into chemical equilibrium, acids and bases, solution chemistry, and introductory organic chemistry. Advanced learners explore reaction mechanisms, spectroscopy, kinetics, and analytical problem-solving strategies. Each class combines discussion, practice exercises, and feedback to ensure mastery, confidence, and long-term retention.
