About Aaron
As a graduate from UCSB in biology, I am well-versed in a wide range of math, chemistry, and biology subjects. I am also a current chemistry teacher at the high school level, and thus have learned a lot about how to support students who are struggling with a specific topic or want to push themselves to the next level of academic achievement. Teaching is my passion, and I love using my expertise to help students fulfill their potential.
Additionally, I am proficient in Spanish and can offer bilingual services in the topics mentioned above.

Tutoring is an investment, and it's my job to make it as efficient and effective as possible for your student. That's why I prioritize first knowing exactly what skills need to be mastered for the course.
Then, I take an "I do, we do, you do" approach, where I (1) outline the specific steps to solve a problem and demonstrate how to use them, (2) work together with your student to apply the methods to solve a couple more examples, (3) then allow the student to try the method on their own and give feedback. This cycle is repeated and modified using student feedback and what I notice until the student has mastered the skill and is able to solve any problem. Using this focused approach, your student will achieve mastery of the necessary skills as quickly as possible. You should also expect your student to work hard during each tutoring session.
Another essential part of my lessons is the resources your student takes from each session for immediate application at school. I work hard to find, create, and modify handouts and tutorial videos that your student can bring to school and use in the classroom the very next day. I find that many students benefit from powerful visualizations, mnemonics, and highly-focused notes with example problems the most.
I offer lessons in all math and science topics for middle through high school.
